Michael Dutton
Founder · Service design & AI
Michael has spent more than twenty years designing technology that people can actually use. He started in human factors research at Microsoft, Intel and MIT, then led service design for consultancies in the US, Europe and New Zealand — including the Accenture digital team behind New Zealand's Births, Deaths and Marriages service. He holds a master's in human factors psychology, which is a long way of saying he studies how people and systems let each other down, and how to stop it.
He has watched the web arrive, pop, arrive again, and now he thinks AI is the biggest shift of the three. He founded WE AI in 2025 because most owners can tell there's something to it, and few can tell what their Tuesday looks like with it. He builds the working tool, in plain English, with the people who'll use it.

Kevin Mason
Data, Privacy & Governance Lead
Kevin has spent over twenty years making data useful and safe to use — from ERP migrations to leading the data and analytics practices at Accenture and EY in Wellington, and two years as CTO of an AI startup. He's built teams and platforms for some of New Zealand's most security-conscious agencies: social welfare, child welfare, defence, and revenue. As CTO, he also led the startup through achieving ISO 27001 certification, putting in place — and embedding the evidence and processes to demonstrate — secure engineering, data handling, and information security practices.
A Claude advocate from early on, he joined WE AI to help ensure sound data, privacy, and security practices from the outset.
